Go Braves….and A’s!

Well, the A’s finally clinched and will start of the playoffs against the Minnesota Twins, who by the way are going to lose. This ought to be an interesting series since my roommate Mel is a big Twins fan. Too bad they’re going to lose in the first round. 🙂

Of course, even more importantly, the Braves kickoff their series againsts the Giants on Tuesday, with Glavine set to start. They’re going all the way.

That’s about as much enthusiasm as I can work up this morning after yesterday’s “recovery.” Hopefully, next time I will do a little better.

A Good Book

One more entry for today– A long ago entry stated that I was reading The Count of Monte Christo by Dumas. Well, I have long since finished it. It is a definite recommended reading and as a bonus, it can prove useful in answering Jeopardy questions. Now, the movie version is out on video. So, my recommendation is this: read the book, watch the movie, and compare. Leave me a few comments what you think. Hasta Luego!

Almost there…

Well, it’s almost Friday. 1 more day. I think I can make it. So, the Oakland A’s have just dropped two games to the Angels. Not happy about that one. But they are still tenuously holding on to the top of the division. Of course, I’m really a Braves fan, but since they have already clinched their division title, I’m on to rooting for the A’s. I was never really an A’s fan either until Mark Ellis was called up in April (or May was it?). Now I must cheer for the South Dakota born player. Roommate Mel thinks the A’s will choke in the playoffs, but I’m rooting for a Braves/A’s showdown.

O Happy Day!

Yes folks, I’m back! I realize it’s been a long, long time, but I was busy so give me a break. I finally had something really exciting to write about– Pete Sampras won the US Open. Hello number 14! Woohoo! I thought Pete’s glory days might have been over, and I was preparing myself to embrace a new up and coming young US star (perhaps Andy Roddick..hmmm). But, there’s no need for that now as I see my Pete is still going strong. Don’t get me wrong, I love Agassi too, but Pete is awesome and when they are playing each other I must choose. However, I can’t thank Andre enough for dispensing of the Aussie Hewitt. Also, props to Serena. High five for all of us younger sisters. Well, I’d better go. I’m off to dream about improving my ailing forehand shot.
